I’ve just finished setting up my membership for the Adobe Creative Cloud, and I’ve got to say, so far I’m impressed with the service. Before I switched to Mac, I used the Windows version of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and although I was by no means a power user, I was content with the capabilities of the software.

When I moved to Mac, the then cost of switching to Mac versions was prohibitive in my circumstances, so I looked for other alternatives. I’d started using Lightroom in Windows land, but looked to Apple’s Aperture as it was cheaper.

As this blog is hosted on WordPress.com, I’m very happy with the functionality provided, along with the various customisation options available. It is certainly very capable and relatively straightforward to use.

Where it’s been annoying, for lack of a better word, is in the use of the web interface to write up posts, particularly if you, like me, prefer something “offline”, where you can type and fiddle to your heart’s content, before actually posting anything.
